Brent Crude Falls Below $90 Mark; WTI Follows Trend

The crude oil markets recently recorded significant declines, with the Brent crude oil price, in particular, falling below the $90 per barrel mark. Specifically, figures for the November Brent futures show that it dropped by 0.92 percent to $89.7 per barrel. A similar pattern is visible in the WTI crude oil futures, where the contract for October delivery recorded a decline of 0.97 percent, settling at $84.2 per barrel. These parallel downward movements in both major benchmark crude oil prices indicate general, downward pressure across the entire oil market. Of particular note is the historical dimension of this decline: This level has not been reached since August 17th. Whether this downward spiral signals a correction or at least a noticeable weakening of the recent price momentum remains to be seen, but the market data speaks clearly to this.
