VW-Chef calls for unity amidst transformation process and industrial challenges

Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume has called for maximum unity from the workforce. This comes as the entire group undergoes a profound transformation plan, which is characterized by the current crisis mood in the industry. The challenges for the group are multifaceted, including geopolitical tensions, trade barriers, and intense competitive pressure. These cost burdens have already led to the announcement of the elimination of around 50,000 jobs.
Other large technology companies are also facing considerable difficulties. For example, Tesla was confronted in China with a recall of approximately three million electric cars due to problems with the door handles, and Uber had to accept a substantial fine from the Dutch data protection authority. These developments underline the uncertain global environment in which Volkswagen must also operate.
