AfD and BSW Candidates Meet on Dessau Market Square

A meeting of candidates from the AfD and the BSW recently took place on the market square in Dessau and highlighted the political connections in Saxony-Anhalt. At this election campaign event, organized by AfD candidate Ulrich Siegmund, there was an exchange with Sahra Wagenknecht, the founder of the BSW. Wagenknecht commented on a possible cooperation with the AfD, arguing that excluding the AfD would be undemocratic, especially given the electoral advantage of over 40 percent that she noted for them. In contrast, Siegmund remained reserved during direct interactions with Wagenknecht, as his focus was clearly on his primary campaign goal: securing an absolute majority in Saxony-Anhalt.
