Voter turnout in the Kurultai elections in Kazakhstan reaches 37.05 percent

The elections for the Kurultai in Kazakhstan are an important step in the national restructuring towards a unicameral parliament. As of the time of reporting, voter turnout reached a value of 37.05 percent of registered voters, with a total of 4,670,816 votes cast.
Participation in the elections showed regional differences. In particular, the Kyzylorda and Zhetysu regions recorded high participation rates of 47.59 percent and 47.29 percent, respectively. In contrast, Almaty reported the lowest voter turnout with a value of 17.87 percent.
These elections are part of Kazakhstan's transition to a unicameral parliamentary structure. The result will establish a unicameral parliament with a total of 145 deputies. The deputies will be elected for a term of five years via party lists.
