Two Incidents on Runway 26L: Vietnam Airlines and Lufthansa Under Investigation

Two separate incidents involving a Vietnam Airlines 787 and a Lufthansa A380 occurred on Runway 26L, causing only property damage. The BFU is investigating the causes, considering factors like weather or ILS work.

Two separate incidents occurred on Runway 26L, involving a Vietnam Airlines 787 and a Lufthansa A380. Fortunately, these incidents only resulted in property damage.

Significant damage to the landing gear and fuselage occurred on the Vietnam Airlines 787. Upon stopping, it was found that the aircraft had four damaged tires. Due to this damage, the 787 had to make an emergency diversion to Munich.

In contrast, the Lufthansa A380 proceeded normally to its designated parking spot.

The Federal Aviation Office (BFU) is currently investigating the causes of these incidents. Factors such as weather conditions or work on the ILS (Instrument Landing System) are being taken into account as part of this investigation.
