Two separate incidents occurred on runway 26L, involving an aircraft from Vietnam Airlines and an Airbus A380 from Lufthansa. Fortunately, both incidents only resulted in property damage.
A Vietnam Airlines Boeing 787 was involved in an incident where the aircraft sustained damage to the landing gear and fuselage. Due to this damage, the aircraft had to make an emergency return flight to Munich. Upon completing the flight, it was determined that the 787 had four destroyed tires.
In contrast, the Lufthansa A380 landed without incident and reached its designated parking spot normally. The Federal Aviation Office (BFU) is investigating the causes of the incidents, taking into account factors such as weather conditions or maintenance work on the ILS (Instrument Landing System).
