Syria aims to build stable relations with neighboring countries. However, there is currently considerable mistrust towards Israel, as Syrian Foreign Minister Schaibani stated to Reuters. According to the minister, ending Israeli aggression is Syria's top priority. Schaibani emphasized that this main concern must be addressed before any negotiations can take place, thereby signaling that security and an end to military attacks must form the basis for any diplomatic talks.
