Syria and Israel: Tensions Rise After Israeli Attack, Military Presence in the South Strengthened

Recently, an Israeli attack occurred in Syria, which reportedly caused no reported casualties. The Syrian transitional government strongly condemned this incident, calling it an "unjust act of aggression." Criticism of this action was also international, including from the US Embassy in Turkey.
In response to the tensions, Israel has increased its military presence in southern Syria. Israel repeatedly justifies its actions by citing the protection of the Druze minority. In fact, since December 2024, Israel has deployed troops to a buffer zone in southern Syria and continues to carry out attacks on targets within Syria despite these incidents.
These recent developments underscore the persistently high tension level between the parties on the ground. The combination of the attacks and military buildup in the south remains a central focus for international observation.
