She will be the second European woman to perform an extravehicular activity (EVA) outside a space station, making her a historical figure. Adenot is not only the second European astronaut with such an achievement but also the second French woman to travel to space; before her was Claudie Haigneré, whose flight took place in February. ESA reported that Haigneré's preparations were extensive, including about 150 hours of underwater training.
