The fraud occurred during a phone scam where the victims were induced to invest in fake stocks and subsequently transfer money to an account provided by the swindlers. The Prosecutor's Office then filed a lawsuit to recover the money. Through this legal action, the entire amount was recovered from a 25-year-old resident of the Samara region.
