Prosecutor's Office of the Voronezh Region Identifies 14,000 Violations of Children's Rights in Seven Months

The Prosecutor's Office of the Voronezh Region has revealed a considerable volume of irregularities in the first seven months: A total of 14,000 cases of violations of the rights of minors were documented. Given these figures, the office therefore undertook a comprehensive series of measures to ensure compliance with children's rights and achieve concrete improvements.

To close legal and regulatory gaps, the Prosecutor's Office actively challenged local regulations. Specifically, over 1,000 regulatory acts, including 1,026 local documents, were appealed. Furthermore, 1,913 directives were issued to correct identified deficiencies, and 464 lawsuits were filed to protect children's rights. These intensive legal actions led to consequences for numerous actors.

As a result of this process, responsibilities were established against over 2,600 individuals. Parallel to these legal measures, efforts also focused on the physical safety and well-being of the affected children, with a significant success being the securing of housing for orphaned and parentless children.
