Industrial Production in the Ulyanovsk Region: Uneven Growth Despite Positive Year Forecast

The industry of the Ulyanovsk Region showed a mixed performance in the first half of 2026, despite positive forecasts for the end of the year. Overall, the industrial production index is expected to reach 102.1% by year-end. This growth is supported by several sectors.
The scientific and technical sector showed particular strength with an increase of 57%. Furthermore, the construction and mechanical engineering sectors rose significantly in June, and investments in the automotive and rubber products sectors also grew significantly. Another growth driver was the food industry, which was boosted by rising exports of oils, meat, and agro-industrial goods.
Despite these positive developments, there are limitations in the data basis, as data on median wages and the real incomes of the population are missing. This gap complicates a more complete picture of the economic situation.
In summary, while the industry is on track for a positive year-end, the growth is sector-specific and unevenly distributed, with the data on income developments remaining incomplete.
