Improved Care in Samara Pharmacies Starting September 1st

Beginning September 1, 2026, Samara will offer enhanced preventive medical care in its pharmacies. This includes upgraded checks like lipoprotein(a) screening and specialized tests for older adults. All these new and expanded services are covered and free under mandatory health insurance.

Samara is planning a significant upgrade to the medical care provided in pharmacies, starting on September 1, 2026. With this expansion, there will be a more comprehensive focus on preventive medical examinations. A central component of this improved care is the complete lipid profile check, which will now also include a test for lipoprotein(a). Furthermore, additional examinations are being added for various age groups. Specifically, for elderly male and female patients, specific tests such as fall risk assessment and evaluation of cognitive impairment are now offered. For this patient group, a coronary calcium scan and an aortic ultrasound are also planned. Newly added testing procedures include dermoscopy and measurement of glycated hemoglobin. An important point for citizens is that all of these procedures will be performed free of charge under mandatory health insurance.
