A Toyota Aygo drove from Castroper Straße onto the subway tracks, necessitating an extensive and specialized recovery operation in Bochum. Due to the incident, the subway line had to be closed for the entire duration of the process. The recovery was a coordinated effort involving the company Bogestra and the fire department. To remove the vehicle, it was loaded onto a flatbed trailer and pulled out using the winch system of a rescue train. Additionally, there was a medical incident: the driver suffered a medical emergency suspected to be hypoglycemia. The police have now launched an investigation to clarify how the vehicle got off the roadway.
