ADAC secures new fuel discount partner: Esso replaces Shell

The news that ADAC is ending its cooperation with Shell at the end of the year marks a visible change in member benefits. Central to this is the realization that ADAC has successfully found a successor for the fuel discount program. Starting September 1st, Esso will take over the provision of the fuel discount benefit. For the approximately 22 million ADAC members, this means that the familiar discount will continue, although a change of gas stations will be necessary. According to our observation, the discount of one cent per liter is being maintained. During this transition period, ADAC members can benefit from both Esso and continue to benefit from Shell, which ensures a certain continuity in benefits. This development shows a clear shift in the strategic focus of the involved players. While ADAC anchors the discount benefit with Esso, Shell will shift its focus to strengthening its own customer loyalty program. This indicates a realignment of the partnership landscape in the area of mobility services. In summary: The cooperation with Shell ends at the end of the year, and Esso takes over the discount program starting September 1st. The maintenance of the discount of one cent per liter thus remains a crucial anchor point for the members.
